Studio Policies and Etiquette

Cancellation Policy

Classes require a 12-hour cancellation notice; ALL privates and duets require a 24-hour cancellation notice. If you do not cancel in advance, you will be automatically charged for the session. If you are unable to cancel within these times or do not show up for your class or appointment, you will be charged for that session or have a session deducted from your account. If you have a membership you will be charged a $20 cancellation fee.

Please cancel your appointment through your online account or contact us at the studio: info@fitwisepilates.com.  Apologies, there are no exceptions. We appreciate your understanding of this.

Reservations

While walk-ins are welcome, we highly recommend reserving classes online to guarantee your spot in class.

Waitlist Policy

There are four spots on the waitlist. Adding your name to the waitlist provides you a great opportunity to get into class. We send out automated emails notifying you if you get into class, please monitor your email. If you add yourself to the waitlist and have a change you are responsible to remove yourself in order to avoid the charge of the cost of your class. You are always welcome to stop in for last-minute availability, as it does happen.

Instructors for class and private availability schedules are subject to change.

Security

We provide cubbies for your belongings, but are not responsible for any lost or missing items.

Payment

Payment is due before or the same day of a session or class. We accept cash, American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa. Prices and policies are subject to change without notice.

All Sales Are Final – We do not offer refunds. Class packages are not transferable and non-refundable. Apparel and products are final sales.
Please check the expiration dates of your classes and sessions before purchasing. We can’t reinstate expired class packages and we do not offer extensions.

Arrive on Time–  We can’t stop a class in progress for you if you arrive late, and we don’t wish to disrupt your classmates. After 15 minutes your space may be given away and a late fee charge applied.

Cell Phones– Please turn to silent.

Hygiene – We ask that you refrain from using scented perfumes, lotions and products of like prior to class. Please wear long hair up while in studio.

Pilates and Gyrotonic® Attire

There is nothing special about workout clothing for Pilates. You just need something that lets you move, isn’t too baggy, and lets the instructor see the lines of your body. Shoes are not worn for Pilates workouts. Socks are mandatory in the studio and must be worn at all times. We require people to wear grip socks, designed specifically for Pilates/yoga as a light barrier and to enhance their grip on the equipment. We sell them in the studio. Socks that do not have a grip are forbidden in the studio. Socks with grips only please.

Listen to your Your Body

You are responsible for your body. If an instructor asks you to do something that really doesn’t feel right for you (which is different than “requires exertion”), it is alright not to do it. The experienced staff at FitWise has a modification for every situation and would happily serve you.

Changes in Your Body

Often, we will check in with students before a class, and ask how they are feeling and if there is anything special going on. But if something really new is going on for you, don’t wait to be asked, Inform  one of our  super Instructors before class and let them know what’s up so that we may better serve you and plan a strategy for your healing.

Regularity of Practice

To experience the optimal benefits of a movement practice, it’s important to commit yourself regularly! We recommend a minimum of  2 – 3 times per week, more if you can make the time. Whether in a private session, equipment group, mat class, or at home, practicing Pilates on a consistent basis will accelerate your learning and greatly enhance your overall health.
