ClassesGroup Equipment Classes

FitWise Pilates Reformer and Equipment classes offered specialized lessons in an intimate setting. We know that you need a challenge – but at just the right level. We offer classes for Beginners, Intermediate levels, rehabilitation and restorative (Movement Medicine) as well as fitness buffs/ Advanced who have been doing Pilates and fitness activities for years. We organize groups so students are at compatible levels of fitness and understanding of the exercises. Because each group is limited in size, you’ll get individualized attention. Even if you are new to Pilates, we can modify or progress the exercises to the right level so you stay challenged but are never overwhelmed.

In addition to a full body workout you will learn and employ such strategies into your functional daily activites as how to use your body and muscles more efficiently, focus your mind for improved health and fitness, increase core strength resulting in better posture, breathing capacity and blood circulation.  Increased flexibility results in greater balance and coordination, reduces stress, develops muscle groups uniformly and corrects muscle imbalances, increases overall body stregnth and endurance re-habs and prevents injury to damaged muscle groups/sports injuries and creates a longer, leaner firmer apperance.

Our classes help you to move better. We apply functional fitness, Fascia fitness and overall Core Conditioning  that help you to do absolutely everything better, deliver useful awareness and transform your body in the process.

The FitWise BARRE Class

This class is a faster paced full body workout that is very safe and kind to the spine. It will deliver body awareness, improve your balance, increase lean muscle and posture.

This class will burn fat and increase stamina through a unique fusion of Barre workout, cardio, Pilates, core conditioning and strength training.

What to expect: we will have fun targeting glutes,thighs,calves and foot strength while creating long lean muscle. The Pilates core work will focus on abs,core, lower back and arms. We will add some lengthening moves and fascia recoil for a fabulously fit you!!

Regularity of Practice

To experience the optimal benefits of a movement practice, it’s important to commit yourself regularly! We recommend a minimum of 2 – 3 times per week, more if you can make the time. Whether in a private session, equipment group, mat class, or at home, practicing Pilates and/or yoga on a consistent basis will accelerate your results and greatly enhance your overall health.

Pre-requisites for Classes

If you are brand new to using Pilates machines or Pilates classes, we require that you take a private session before entering into the equipment classes. In this session we have the opportunity to asses you gait, shoulder organization, spine and pelvis alignment as well as any areas of interest that we will want to address such as injuries, muscle imbalances and or goals. The more that we can discover about you the better we may serve you in a class setting so that we may custom tailor each class/session to your needs. The first session also allows you to learn the fundamentals and the machines so that when you enter a class you may do so safely and with progress. It could be rather frustrating to spend the entire hour trying to understand as opposed to feeling the beneficial movements. After this session we can help guide you into classes that will best suit you. In some cases we may suggest a few privates prior to entering classes for those with particular needs.
